The Runaway

$72.00

Bon Jovi helped define the rock anthem of the 80s. In 1984, the song “Runaway” was their first top 40 hit. However, their defining moment came with the release of their third album, Slippery When Wet. It catapulted the band to international fame. These two major Bon Jovi milestones are the inspiration behind The Runaway sneaks.

The album spawned three #1 Bon Jovi and Richie Sambora collaborations – “Wanted Dead or Alive,” “You Give Love a Bad Name,” and “Livin’ on a Prayer”. The last two co-written with hitmaker Desmond Child.

As their popularity soared, Bon Jovi stayed true to their roots, but kept evolving with the times by responding adeptly to trends in the industry. Bon Jovi inspired pop-rock bands like the Goo Goo Dolls in the 90s. And, through their cowboy-themed anthems like “Wanted Dead or Alive”, they laid the groundwork for many country artists like Sugarland, Jason Aldean, and others to incorporate rock elements into their country style.

Jon Bon Jovi has always remained loyal to his home state of New Jersey. And giving back to communities there has remained a priority to this day. We can't say enough good things about his foundation’s Soul Kitchen, a non-profit community restaurant in Red Bank, N.J., where those who can't afford to pay for meals volunteer to prepare and serve food, set and bus tables, or wash dishes, as Jon frequently does himself, even now. We commend Jon’s roll-up-the-sleeves approach and attitude to giving back. We use it as an example in our work to give back and pay it forward too.

The Runaway sneakers celebrate Bon Jovi’s music, passion, compassion, and stand-out black leather fashion. (Note: These soft cloth sneaks aren’t leather, but with a little design magic we sure made them look like they are.)

A minimum of $5.00 from every sneaker pair purchase goes to Save The Music Foundation to support music programs in public schools across the nation that serve students K-12. This fundraising effort is part of Music Row Sneaker’s Operation Bandstand. Operation Bandstand reminds us to, “band together and stand together for a better world.”

All Music Row Sneakers are unisex designed with comfortable, cushioned rubber outsoles and removable soft insoles, making them easy to adjust for a better fit if necessary. Be sure to ask us about sizing if you often have trouble with your sneaker fit. We offer these in U.S. men’s sizing with unisex design characteristics. So, please don’t worry ladies. There’s a simple conversion of our sneaks for your size. There is a 1.5 size difference between men's and women's. For example, a men's size 7 is equivalent to a women's size 8.5. If you have any concerns, we recommend a half-size larger than normal.
